Whenever people deny thin privilege, I just drop by my OkC account for proof that they are wrong.
His account btw
How is someone being an insensitive dickhead (especially online when there are no real-life repercussions) an example of “thin privilege”? Pretty sure that you can be an awful person no matter how much you weigh.
This makes me so mad :/.
I don’t think he was being rude at all, he told her she was beautiful and had a valid question. Why would you love being so overweight when it is in fact detrimental to your health?
How is that an inappropriate question? If we can’t ask people first hand a Heston that could only be answered by that person then where will we ever get in society?
People don’t want others to talk behind their backs about things such as weight or sexuality, though when asked in a polite manner a serious question, this is the reaction most people get.
How will anyone ever understand anyone if people react in this manner, it’s absurd.
You CANT reverse this question, “why do you love being thin” because there’s no question about why people would choose to be thin over fat because it means they have a fucking longer life span, and the quality of that life is statistically better as far as health issues down the road.
Not to mention “thin privilege” get the fuck out of here with that… I’ve always been super thin and it held be back in a lot of things because it wasn’t by choice and it was a health issue.
We should all just focus our energies towards BEING HEALTHY, not thin or fat, and that includes not getting offended by other people being curious and asking questions if they aren’t in the same “position” in life. Quit labeling every single thing that happens in life as some random thing to be offended by and just BE.
Ugh got way off topic but jeez.
